TAG! Summer Besties

This tag was created by non other than Macbarbie07

I saw a few videos like this and thought HECK why not make a video as well.
It’s always nice to see different products people like to use, especially if your having troubles finding something that’s right for you.

If you haven’t seen this type of tag before here is the just of it. Your summer FAVORITE products. Thats it, that’s all. But I’m going to give you a more better idear on how I feel about these products I use.

OR you can check out my video HERE if you don’t feel like reading!

Basically below is a review on the products I’ve listed in my video.

1) Lip product

Hands down Burts Bees chapstick. I love the peppermint one. I’ve tried SOOO many different chapstick flavors by Burts and peppermint if by far my most favorite scent. Also, it’s great to get a chapstick in the summer that has SPF in it, because your lips will get sunburned. It happened to me once and TRUST it is NOT fun! But bright lips are def a big big trend right now with hot pinks, bright reds and especially CORALS! So I picked up a few of those colors by Rimmel London and they last a really long time, my favorite being Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in Fuchsia Fever.

$2.99 - Shoppers

$8.99 - Shoppers

2) Blush (I decided to do Body Lotion since I donuts wear blush )

In the summer I HATE wearing anything on my face, cos of the heat you sweat (if you don’t, eff yuuuuuh I’m jellz) so I chose to do a body lotion. Glysomed is extremely light on your skin and it’s main ingredients include aloe vera, vitamin E and glycerin. && for those of you who aren’t aware, ALOE is incredible for your skin! The glycerin helps to restore the skins moisture balance, as the aloe and vitamins soften the skin and hydrate it throughout the day.

$14.99 - Shoppers

3) Nail Polish

Bourjois makes the best nail polishes by far. I prefer them more so than OPI actually. Their So Laque Ultra Shine nailpolish are like super shined to the MAX. They literally last, they say 7 days, but I’ve found my polish to last longer than that. What I love about their colors they have more of a matte tone, they’re SUPER shiny but there’s no sparkles or shimmer in it so when you put it on your nail it looks exactly like what you see in the bottle. And they go for $10 bucks each at shoppers The colors I chose were:

28 - Rose lounge (apparently Kate Middleton wore this color on her wedding day, so if you’d like to have a taste of affordable royalty, you get this color)

$10 Each at Shoppers

37 - Bleu Asphalte a matte greyish bluish blackish color

4) Liquid face product

I’m going to say my Burts Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser with royal jelly is my go to face wash, especially in the summer. Its a light weight cleanser that removes dirt, oil and makeup which leaves your face feeling smooth and radiant. Whats great about the royal jelly is that it helps reduce redness in your skin complexion and also, royal jelly helps to heal any cuts you may have on your face, or anywhere on your body. (for future reference)

$12.99 - Shoppers

5) Powder face product

Again not a huge fan of wearing anything on my face in the summer. I wear like a minimal amount of face product as possible because I don’t want it running away and streaking and people can see I’m clearly wearing a mask to cover up the ugly. So with that said, I love my Rimmel London 3IN1 bronzer in 001 Gold Princess. And here’s the interesting part about my bronzer. I don’t use it for its purpose. I wear it under my eyes to brighten it up. Makeup has NO rules so experiment and explore and have fun with it.

$5.99 - Shoppers

6) Hair product

This was a hard one to choose just ONE. So I chose three. My Nexxus pro-mend heat protection spray. This spray is alcohol-free and acts as a barrier to absorb heat and prevent breakage.  Most people don’t realize this, but if you go out in the sun, especially in the summer, the sun is super drying on your hair and you’d want to prevent any damage, even unintentional damage. So before stepping out, I like to spray this in my hair to protect it from the rays. Also, I’m loving the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. I do that at least twice a week. When your in the shower you leave it in for 7 minutes after washing for best results. So I like to save my hair masque when I gotta shave my legs, sounds dirty? Maybe, but after I wash my hair and suds up my body, I don’t want to just waste the water, I want to at least to something to make the time go by. And this masque penetrates and rebuilds damaged hair for improved shine and elasticity. Another hair product I’m loving is Batiste Dry Shampoo. Because your hair does tend to get dirtier faster in the summer from the sweat, batiste dry shampoo helps to hold your hair off for another day making it look full of body and texture, as if you just washed your hair.

$14.99 - Shoppers

$28 - Trade Secrets

$6.99 - Shoppers

7) Eye product

Mascara, Mascara, MASCARA! Def a great product for the eyes. Especially a waterproof mascara is necessary to have for the summer. Because of sweat you don’t want your make up running, but note, your eyelids also product oils, so it’s best to use a waterproof mascara to prevent it from running. And it’s great if you don’t like wearing make up in the heat but still want to look awake. Mascara does just that, makes you look awake. Waterproof is great too if you feel like you can’t go to the beach without any makeup on and you want to go swimming, throw on waterproof mascara and your set! I use Rimmel London Max Lash Volume Flash and Lash Accelerator. Lash Flash comes in waterproof where as Accelerator does not.

$11.99 - Shoppers

$6.99 - Shoppers

8) Self Tanner (or any tanning item)

I don’t like self tanners, I can never find the perfect one for me. Because they end up super streaky or if I go swimming or take a shower, I end up super blotchy. So me and self tanners don’t mix. But I love tanning. One of my favorite tanning products will have to be the Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil. I find that sitting out in the sun for one hour the LEAST you turn super dark. It could just be my skin tone, because I do have olive tones in my skin, but an hour in this and your baked. And it smells like coconuts. Mm..

$7.97 Wal-Mart

9) Fashion accessory

Some cool shades to protect your eyes from the demotic rays! It’s great to have a variety of sunglasses for your mood or outfits. But make sure you pick a pair that flatter your face shape, just cos those spiffy Aviators are in style, doesn’t mean your head is going to flatter them. Just sayin! But BELTS!! Belts are great and versatile and make any outfit look complete. If your wearing a solid dress, to help break it up and show shape, a belt is a great accessory to have! Especially tanned/brown belts.

10) Clothing piece

I’m loving my buttoned up nautical shorts I purchased from Forever21 for 17 bucks but a great staple piece to have is a nice white blouse, or anything white really. But preferably a white blouse. It adds this whole freshness feel to any outfit. And you could always dress up or down an outfit with a white blouse. Throw it over your tank top and jean shorts and tie the ends together in a knot, it looks SUPER cute. I got my 3/4 sleeved blouse from H&M for $17

So I hope this post was helpful to give you a slight review on the products I like to use in the summer and hopefully I made you want to go out and buy them. I think the products listed are a great necessity to have.

Have a fun and eventful summer, play safe!

Peace&Love

Tutorial: Everyday Makeup

Alright ya’ll so I recently uploaded a video called

Tutorial: Everyday Makeup CLICK HERE TO WATCH!

Basically, in the video I used a few products to obtain a look I’ve been doing, as the video says, EVERYDAY. It’s a simple NATURAL look that pretty much anybody can do.

It’s quick and easy and takes no time at all once you get the hang of it.

Below is a list of all the products I use and a link to where you can purchase these products online… IF I can find it. I would write a review about each item but it would take WAY too long. Maybe I’ll make a summed up video for that but in the meantime it will be listed below. For the more pricier products, I can tell you whats a great alternative.

But note I’ve been using these products and repurchasing most items since February and most items I’ve stuck to for more than a year. So I highly recommend these as fantastic products for everyday use AND last for quite a while.

Here we go!

CONCEALER: Benefit Boi-ing in shade 01  Price: $18.00

A tip that’s best use for this product is to rub it between your fingers to warm it up so it can glide easily on the spots your want to conceal. Personally, I haven’t found a great concealer for cheap that actually works, but I’ve heard that Hard Candy Glamoflauge - Heavy Duty Concealer  comes to even compare to the Kat Von D tattoo concealer. Price: $6.00 WAL-MART FTW! (for Hard Candy PS not Kat)

BRONZER: Rimmel London 3 in 1 Shimmering Bronzer in shade 001 Gold Princess  Price: $9.99

POWDER BRUSH: Lacross Premier  Price: (unknown)

Since I can’t find this product online or anywhere for that matter, a great powder brush I’ve used before which is just as great is Quo (a shoppers drugmart brand Price: $22.00) What’s great to know, for those living in Canada, the Quo brushes very often go on sale up to 40% off at shoppers.

PENCIL EYELINER: Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in color 061 Jet Black  Price: $7.99

LIQUID EYELINER: Guerlain liquid liner in color 001 Noir Ebene Price: $35.00

I find that a great comparison would be Rimmel London Glam Eyes in jet black and that runs for about $7.99

MASCARA: Rimmel London Max Volume Flash mascara in color 003 Extreme Black  Price: $6.99
MASCARA: Rimmel London Lash Accelerator mascara in color 003 Extreme Black Price: $11.99

EYEBROW BRUSH: Smashbox lip brush (used for eyebrows) Price: (unknown) Again a great brand would be Quo check link above.

EYEBROW SHAPING KIT: Benefit BROWzings in shade Medium (used wax ONLY) Price: $30.00

“EYEBROW” SHADOW: Lancome Color Focus Quad eyeshadow but I use the darkest brown for my eyebrows to match my hair  Price: $50.00

They do test on animals sadly, so again, great alternative RImmel London Color Rush Quad Price: $8.99

LIP LINER: Benefit D’finer D’liner CLEAR not nude, my mistake lip liner  Price: $20.00

LIPSTICK: Rimmel London lipstick in shade 070 Airy Fairy  Price: $3.99

LIP PLUMPER: Sexy Mother Pucker in shade Peche Price: $9.99

I hope this helps and you’ll check out my video. There will be more blogs to go with my videos and photos and such to compare. I hope you enjoyed this. And thanx for watching.

Peace&Love

New Blog Approach?!

I’m not 100% sure if this is going to fall through, but for the time being I will be using my tumblr to post any blog posts related to the VIDEOS I make …

No not porn you mindless drones.

BEAUTY VIDEOS!

Yes, I have fallen into the obsession of making beauty videos. As I previously made a blog post on my new cruelty  free lifestyle in skin care and make up and watching a bunch of girls aimlessly spend money on clothes and a fuck load of makeup, I have slipped through the cracks and have decided to make my OWN videos and share it with the world.

Of course I could be completely embarrassing myself but I am GEEVING LARGE BRRRUUH!

I’m using my same old channel I once used for all my Media related videos and now I’m going to transition that into beauty advice, makeup tutorials, DIY, and brag about how awesome my clothes are compared to yours.

So if your interested my channel is www.youtube.com/ashaliinaaa

Sadly not ASHALIINA as someone who hasn’t been on their youtube in YEARS has taken that name. Fucking Shame!

BUTT…For some reason my videos are taking quite a long time to upload, maybe its my wireless but it better smarten up, or I’m going to kick its ass!

If you checked out my channel THNX sooo much! I really appreciate it. Now run, GO, tell your friends and your nonnas!

I’ll be posting videos as often as I can and hopefully I’ll be consistent and get my channel rolling.

Peace&Love
